LIFE AT TCS

Your Child at TCS

Daily life at The Craig School is designed to feel supportive and predictable allowing room for connection and growth. Structure is intentional. Students know what to expect and where they are headed.

Here's what their day would look and feel like...

Working Together

Their day feels manageable

The school day follows clear routines that reduce stress and help students focus on learning rather than navigating uncertainty.

Transitions are supported, expectations are consistent, and staff are present throughout the day to help students stay regulated and connected.

Anxieties dissipate.

They are supported by peers

Students remain part of their classroom community throughout the day. Support happens within the learning environment rather than through frequent removal, helping students build skills while staying connected to instruction and peers.

Trusted friendships bloom.

Their teachers become trusted mentors

Strong relationships shape daily life.

Staff take time to know students as individuals. This foundation helps students feel comfortable asking for help. They take risks that they've never taken before. They start participating more fully in classroom life.

Teachers become allies.

They learn it's okay to take a reset break

We all need a reset during the day. At TCS, we provide our students regular opportunities for movement and breaks. These moments are treated as essential, not disruptive.

Students learn when they need to take breaks to reset.  And how that time for themselves positively affects readiness, focus, and general state-of-mind.

Self-advocacy replaces fear.

They learn the skills to grow socially

Social learning is not confined to a single lesson or block of time once a week.

Social skills are practiced during group work, transitions, games, lunch, and activities. Staff provide real-time coaching to support problem-solving and peer interactions as situations arise.

Social awareness grows.

Their shame is replaced with pride

School life is grounded in respect.

Students are not shamed for mistakes or struggles. Challenges are addressed thoughtfully, with an emphasis on reflection and adjustment.

Mistakes are met with confidence.

They are excited to go to school each day

Daily life here is about steady progress, not constant pressure.

Over time, students gain confidence and a deeper sense of belonging that supports both learning and growth.

Parents tell us time and time again...

"Our child is finally excited to go to school."
