This Is What Fit Looks Like.
A school designed to help students learn, regulate, and grow with confidence.
The Craig School is a private, nonprofit school designed for students in grades 3–8 whose learning experience improves when structure, support, and expectations are intentionally built into the day.
Academic Program
Standards-aligned academics taught by credentialed teachers in small, supportive classrooms.
Powered by Science
Guided by SOL, our Science of Learning Lab, where research and data shape daily practice.
Built For Fit
Where structure and support are part of the learning environment, not added after the fact.
The Right Environment.
Many students who come here are bright, curious, and capable. What they needed was not more pressure, but an environment designed for how they learn, regulate, and engage.
Our school was intentionally built around that reality. Academics, behavioral support, social development, and daily routines work together so students can focus on learning and feel confident doing so.
Guided by Science. Shaped by Real Classrooms.
Through SOL, our Science of Learning Lab, research actively informs daily practice.
Staff meet regularly to review data, observe patterns, and adjust supports. Multiple research projects run each year so the program continues to improve based on evidence and experience.
This is not experimental. It is research-informed and grounded in decades of work with students.
Academics Without Compromise.
Students receive a full academic program aligned with California State Standards and taught by credentialed teachers.
Support is integrated into the classroom so students remain engaged in learning rather than being pulled away from it. The goal is steady academic growth alongside increasing independence and confidence.
This is a school for students who can and want to learn once the environment makes that possible.
Riding for Focus
Movement that supports learning
Middle school students have the option to participate in Riding for Focus, a research-based cycling program developed by Outride to support attention, regulation, and overall well-being.
Every other week, students ride the San Diego Creek Trail in a structured, supervised setting where movement, focus, and teamwork reinforce skills they are building in the classroom.
This is not recess. It is intentional learning through movement.
Supportive by Design.
Students learn best when expectations are clear and support is consistent.
Behavior is shaped thoughtfully through positive reinforcement, skill-building, and accountability without shame. Students are given tools, feedback, and choice. Over time, they learn to regulate, reflect, and make better decisions within a community that respects them.
Built For Fit.
The Craig School serves students in grades 3–8 whose learning experience is impacted by ADHD, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, or similar needs.
Diagnosis is not the starting point. Fit is.
Our admissions process is intentionally thoughtful so families and school can make informed decisions together.
“My husband and I worked tirelessly to find a school that would be a good fit. We tried both private and public schools, only to find ourselves in the same place. This past year, things changed. We found TCS.”
