Riding for Focus
Learning does not stop at the classroom door.
Through our partnership with Outride, students participate in Riding for Focus, an outdoor-based program that blends movement, science, and social skill development in a structured and supportive setting.
The program creates meaningful opportunities for students to practice focus, cooperation, emotional regulation, and confidence while learning through real-world experiences.
What Is Riding for Focus?
Riding for Focus is a nationally recognized program developed by Outride that uses bicycling as a foundation for learning.
Students engage in lessons that integrate:
-
Outdoor and environmental science
-
Bike safety and mechanics
-
Physical movement and coordination
-
Social communication and teamwork
-
Self-management and emotional awareness
The program is designed to support students who benefit from structure, movement, and experiential learning.
Student Feedback
To better understand student experience, Outride uses a structured evaluation process.
Students complete questionnaires before and after participating in the program. Following implementation, staff facilitators also complete a post-program survey.
All data is analyzed by the Outride research team. The Craig School does not analyze or interpret Riding For Focus data in house.
This process allows for consistent, independent review of student experience and outcomes.
