Privacy Policy

The Craig School ("TCS," "we," "us," or "our") operates thecraigschool.org (the "Site"). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit or use the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the public website only, not to internal school systems used to manage enrolled students' education records.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out an inquiry, tour request, or contact form, we collect what you enter, typically your name, email address, phone number, and information about your child such as age, grade level, and the reason for your interest (for example, an IEP or diagnosis you mention). You choose what to share. Don't include sensitive information in a form field beyond what's asked for.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours collects some technical information automatically through cookies and similar technologies: your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site, and time spent on the Site. We use the following third-party tools to do this:

Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site.

Google Ads conversion tracking, to measure the performance of our paid search campaigns.

HubSpot, to manage form submissions and follow-up communication with families who inquire.

Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, to measure ad performance on those platforms.
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data. You can limit this tracking through your browser's cookie settings, or by using tools like Google's Ads Settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to respond to inquiries, schedule tours and follow up on them, communicate with prospective and current families, evaluate how families find the Site and improve it, and measure whether our advertising is working. We do not sell your information to third parties.
Sharing of information
We share information with the service providers named above (Google, HubSpot, Meta) only as needed for them to perform the functions described. We may also share information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of school assets, in which case we'd expect any successor to honor this policy for information already collected.
Children's privacy
This Site is intended for parents and guardians, not for direct use by children. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site. Inquiry and contact forms are meant to be completed by a parent or guardian on their child's behalf. If you believe a child has submitted information to us directly, contact us using the information below and we'll delete it.
Education records and FERPA
If your child enrolls at TCS, the education records we create and maintain as a school (grades, IEP documents, attendance, and similar records) are governed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and by our enrollment agreement and internal records policy, not by this website privacy policy. Ask the school office for our FERPA notice of rights if you'd like a copy.
Your California privacy rights
TCS is a nonprofit organization. Most California privacy laws, including the CCPA, apply to for-profit businesses that meet certain size or revenue thresholds, and nonprofits are generally not covered. Even so, if you'd like to know what information we hold about you or would like it deleted, contact us using the information below and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We can't guarantee absolute security of information you submit through the Site.
Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party sites, such as our HubSpot-hosted forms, social media pages, or partner organizations. We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies separately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted here.
