Maryam Abdullah, Ph.D., is the Parenting Program Director at the Greater Good Science Center (GGSC) at the University of California, Berkeley. As a developmental psychologist specializing in parent-child relationships and children’s social and emotional growth, she creates resources for professionals and organizations that offer parenting education to promote well-being and foster compassion and resilience in children. Maryam shares the latest research on parenting through Greater Good, GGSC’s on line magazine, and has contributed insights to major outlets like The Washington Post, BBC, CNN, and NPR. Before joining GGSC, she was an Assistant Project Scientist at the University of California, Irvine Child Development School, where she worked with parents and children in a behavioral health program and conducted research on interventions and evaluations.
